Aboriginal Tourism Development Plan for the Great Ocean Road

Client: Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism Ltd

Challenge:

To increase the way people can experience Aboriginal culture along the Great Ocean Road and in neighbouring regions; and enable Aboriginal people to engage with the local economy, including directly offering tourism products and operating in other sectors that support the tourism industry.

Our role:

We developed guiding principles for this cutting-edge plan and engaged with a wide range of stakeholders, including Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism, Traditional Owner groups, Surf Coast Shire and Corangamite Shire. These principles were informed by, and iterated with, Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders.

Outcome:

The Aboriginal Tourism Development Plan for the Great Ocean Road was launched in February 2018.
